My comment was not about the accurateness of the movie, it was about MMORPG's (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games) such as EQ, EQ2, WoW, etc. Once an in-game economy is created that allows players to transfer money & items, then the game dynamic changes completely. Suddenly it becomes about who has the most money, farmers will be out in force plundering in-game money to sell illegally offline for real money, items will be priced/traded for based on demand which inevitably gets out of control to the point where players starting out new or casual players cannot compete. Granted the 65k cap is in place but still.

I think Disney has it right at the moment, in that there are "trades" between you and the NPC's via questing (i.e. bribe the barkeep with 10 gold, deliver this rum to Flatt's, etc).

Allowing players to trade gold, while well-intentioned, would fuel twinking by allowing players to buy items they otherwise can't afford or shouldn't be able to afford yet based on their level (i.e. Lvl 2's loaned 60k for a War Frig).

Just saying, it's a good well-intentioned idea but in the past in other games it has destroyed the fun factor.
