The officers could talk and settle the GM question prior to a poll and that way it would go more smoothly.
This option would be a definite must, the officer's would talk and decide who gets to be the next GM before actually starting the mutiny.

That's where the officer's would talk before actually starting the mutiny

1.The GM would have to be Absent for the 30-60day period
2.The Officers would actually talk before the mutiny started and they would all have to vote to start a mutiny and then vote from a list of the current officer's (who were online at the time to pick and choose who they want to be next GM)

Our guild master is not active at all, well, he is and he isn't. He's me, and I don't play the "GM" pirate (ie Samuel Mcmalley) much anymore (unless GM access is required).

A vote system would be one option, however what if several officers have disappeared as well? With members, this would likely be even a bigger problem.

Guild management is definitely falling short... that needs upgrading.

The current officer's on line at the time would start the vote, because you don't want to make another officer a GM if he shows he's not even on line when the vote was casted do you?

After the vote's have been casted and the officers all decided before actually starting the mutiny, who would be the next GM, it would ask you "would you like to change the name of the guild? you click yes/no"
