Open the game launcher and choose DirectX8. I know this sounds crazy but one friend of mine saw vast improvements. Someone in POTCO told her to and her comp is new. Maybe your Radeon will work better.
Another thing turn Reflections off in the main screen's video settings. Make sure you do not have any shadows checked. Less detail is best. And use a 1024 x 768 screen resolution.
