[Platinum Pirate]

Must be a bug if Captain Jack Sparrow did not introduce himself. Cinematic should have played and then he takes you through it on how to customize your pirate. You will need to submit a bug report using the official site's link:

Follow instructions on how to submit your game logs. They are found wherever the game has been installed on your computer's hard drive. Very important that you do this because it might happen again.

After you do, and hopefully you did, you can either wait for them to reply and follow their instruction, or launch the game again and when you see your pirate, go to the bottom of the screen and click on that skull icon to the left of the Play button. Delete the pirate, quit the game just in case [please follow this], close that launcher. After one minute, open the launcher [its the first window panel that pops up after you start the game], at the bottom of the launcher, click Graphics Option and select Direct x9. Then click Continue. Type in your password and click Play to launch the game.

Assuming your pirate has been deleted and you see that you can create four pirates, proceed with creating your first pirate. Wait for it to load and when Captain Jack Sparrow appears mate, it should work fine. And welcome to the Caribbean!
