Welcome back mate! Glad to see more pirates sailing in! If you've been gone for a long time and need a guild, there are plenty of great guilds on these forums that you can look around at if you're interested in one. The bulk of the guilds on POF are found in the
Guilds and Clans section. There are many different types of guilds in here, so there is likely to be one for you. There are also the subforum guilds which are some of the strongest around here (but not necessarily the best):
Black Bart's Krewe,
Partners N Crime,
Shadow Sorcerors (my own guild), and
Emerald Regiment.
