Yeah, I love that the Locker, for Jack, is an unending desert. From the stuff I've read, the idea is that for each person, the Locker is something different, because each person's greatest fear is different. Well, for Jack, being stuck in an unending desert where he can't sail the Pearl.... well, that means he has lost his freedom, and that is his greatest fear.

And that, in my opinion, is the best portrayal of Purgatory/Hell/Whatever I've ever seen.
