Chapter 4
Stealthy stepped out onto the deck of the Golden Swan. The crew members looked up expectantly.
“So today we are going to sack Fort Charles and the Mansion.” Stealthy said, as casually as if he was wondering what the weather would be like tomorrow. The crew grinned among themselves. Their number was seven now, after picking up for people at the Faithful Bride. Racking his brains, he began to tell his plan to the crew.
“Del, Ivan, and Misty, my sources tell me that a ship filled with gunpowder is coming to port the day we pull this off. You will commandeer this ship, bring it to the back of the fort, and wait. Then, at midnight, you will lower a dinghy into the water, row off a bit, and then you will use a stave to light the ship ablaze, and then… BOOM!” Ivan, Del, and Misty nodded. Turning to the others, he continued. “Davy and Jason, you will blow up the Mansion. Use your swords and your grenades to light it ablaze.” There was a slight break in Stealthy’s voice, but thankfully, nobody noticed. “Hector, Meg, and I will attack the Wicked Thicket, which is a new residence for skeletons.” Stealthy paused. “We will be doing this in five days’ time, and I hope to see you all back here at one o’clock. This ship will be docked with an old friend, Darby Drydock.
~~~~~~~~~~~~5 days later, at the docks of Port Royal~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Misty, Ivan, and Del waited nervously at around 11 o’clock. Suddenly, out of the fog came a frigate, with red and with sails. By the info they collected, they knew this was the ship. When the soldiers tossed them the rope, thinking them dockworkers, they roped the ship in. That was the soldiers’ biggest mistake.
Cadet Edwards strolled around the front of the Fort, and yawned hugely. It was always a boring night for us night guards, he thought. Then, at exactly midnight, there was a loud boom, directly behind him, whirling around, he saw the stairs leading up to the fort mangled and twisted, the fort stones blackened and falling out, and the rest of the fort looked completely destroyed. Two minutes later, there was another resounding boom. He didn’t like to think what that blew up, but there was only one thing pirates would go for: the Mansion.
The Swan, 1 o’clock
“Well, it seems that we have finished our mission!” Stealthy grinned.
Suddenly, there was a ship with white sails loomed out of the mist, and it was heading for the Swan.
The captain of this mysterious ship came aboard, and smiled at Stealthy’s astonished face.
“Ah, Stealthy, it is so good to see you again!” Henry Mcbones grinned.
