I 75% agree. True, Disney are forgetting what they're doing, and just adding stuff for the heck of it. I'm sure it won't take much work to add some minor details. I wasn't online during the time that Pirates was a lot more realistic, and I wouldn't say Pirates was at its best.

I don't have a problem with Raven's Cove. I think it's one of the better islands. Very atmospheric, and it kind of worried me when I was exploring it with my friend for the first time! It's the only 'ghost' island, and we need more of them, but spookier. We've been bothered... now let's get frightened!

Jolly Roger was created as a villain just for the game. It was so that there were no problems with Jack fighting Davy Jones, for example, too early. It would probably fit into the story if Davy Jones did appear, but not interact with Jack like Jolly Roger would. Like a ship boss. This is also the reason Blackbeard isn't on the QAR. Jolly Roger also has no established characteristics, so the POTCO team can do what they want with him.
Anyway, I think Pirates isn't very true to the movie, but it is just a game. If they made everything detailed and like the movie, people on older machines will have severe lag and some may have to purchase faster computers. Unless this is just a question of making things more dirty and rustic, then I'm with you all the way. But with the NPCs, I agree with ukebec.
If you want to live the true pirate experience, my best advice is to press F12 in-game. No buttons, no messages, no names. Just true pirate atmosphere. Hope that helps.
