The Tale of a Pirate: Part Two
Chapter 1: The Homecoming
“Captain, we are sailing at about 10 knots, heading to Tortuga” Reported Roger.
“Roger, what did I tell you? Call me Chris” ordered Chris.
“Aye, Cap- I mean Chris, sorry, Chris” said Roger.
“It’s ok Roger” said Chris, “Just call me whatever you like”
“Ok, mop” joked Roger.
“Not like that, Roger” said Chris “Or I’ll run ya through!”
“I know you’re joking Chris” said Roger, “I know you might need me”
They were now close to Tortuga; Chris had a long day back in Isla Cruces. With the death of Davy Jones, his henchmen, and the Flying Dutchman, Roger didn’t have to be captain of them. He was too young to be a captain of a ship currently. Now they were about to dock and rest at Tortuga.
“Let’s head to the butcher and get a meal, what do you want? Pork?” asked Christopher.
“I’m a vegetarian” said Roger, trying to hide the fact that he doesn’t like meat.
“Alright, I’ll get some meat” said Chris.
Chapter 2: The Old Graveyard
After eating a mighty lunch, Chris and Roger went on a sightseeing trip around Tortuga.
“Anything on Tortuga you would like to see?” asked Chris.
“Hmmm… how about a cave or a forest?” responded Roger.
“Alright, just stay with me when we get there” ordered Chris
A half hour later, they came back to the Tortuga’s town; Chris saw a small graveyard, where someone was digging at.
“Excuse me” Chris said, “What are you doing?”
“Ghosts!” said the stranger “Everywhere! Go, go away! Save yourself!”
Chris thought the man was crazy until he saw a grave marked Dog Gunmorgan.
“Huh” Chris said “Sounds familiar”
Chapter 3: Ghosts
“What happened over there?” Roger asked.
“Just talking to another crazy bloke” joked Chris.
“Ha! Good one!” responded Roger.
“Hey, have you heard any ghost stories boy?” asked Chris.
“Aye, they scared me when I was young, well younger” responded Roger.
“Well, you’re going to get scared even more than you’ve ever imagined” said Chris.
“What do you mean by that sir?” asked Roger.
“We’re going to a dreaded island no one ever dared to step foot on.”Said Chris
“Why?”Asked Roger.
“We’re going to a island called Ravens Cove, the island was attacked by a skeleton named Jolly Roger, he and his crew destroyed the buildings and left most places under rocks. Only a couple buildings were left intact. Some caves were buried too. The inhabitants souls turned into ghosts, they were forever locked in the caves that are only reachable by going across bumpy bridges, walking over rocks, maybe killing some guards” said Chris.
“Ok, let’s get on the ship” said Roger.
They sailed to Ravens Cove, it took them more time than they expected since they had to go around numerous navy ships along the way.
“Chris, we are about to bring down the anchor” said Roger.
“Ok, keep your distance from the island. The ship might hit some under water spikes” said Chris.
“Ok, bringing down the dinghy” reported Roger.
As they brought down the dinghy, Roger could see why Chris warned him. The island had a ship broken down on the shore and a ship hanging from a cliff. They rowed the ship to land, making sure it didn’t hit anything under them. As they stepped foot on the island, they heard the souls screaming and women and children crying.
“Now I understand why you warned me about this island” said Roger.
“Aye now let’s head uphill and find those ghosts” said Chris.
“I have a question, why are we going after these ghosts?” asked Roger.
“That’s a good question, you’ll see later” responded Chris.
As they walked uphill, they bumped into an old friend.
“Jack? Jack Sparrow? Is that you?” asked Chris
“Ah! Oh, um, it’s you, mr… your name again?” asked Jack.
“Chris, your old crew member” responded Chris. “What are you doing here?”
“Business” responded Jack.
“I thought you were after the Fountain of Youth?” said Chris.
“Complications arose and were soon overcome” responded Jack. “Why are you here?”
“I’m looking for someone” said Chris.
“Secretive, as usual, I’m heading to morgan’s cave” said Jack.
“Me to, let’s go together. Two heads are better than one as they say, well three because of this boy” said Chris.
They walked to morgan’s cave, which took about an hour, and entered. They saw so many of them, they had an orange glow. Everything about them was unusual. They didn’t have feet; their swords were like dust and separated in the air but soon reformed and then separated continuously.
“Told you that you would be scared Roger” said Chris.
“Not me, well maybe, well… a little” said Jack.
Chapter 4: Father
“Jack, Roger, we need to fight through these enemies” said Chris.
They fought and fought until every ghost died but was soon replaced with another but they kept fighting through the enemies until they came to a dead end.
“WHAT! This can’t be! Impossible! It’s a dead end!” yelled Chris.
Ghosts started walking toward them.
“Sir, I think we went the wrong way, you’re attracting attention” said Roger.
“He’s right” said Jack; “We might have to fight our way through the ghosts now” said Roger.
“Men, draw swords” Chris ordered.
“Ok, sir” said Roger.
“Chris…. Now FIGHT!!!” ordered Chris.
“Ching, Dang, Ding!” Jack, Roger, and Chris fought and fought. Chris slashed a ghost and it deformed into dust.
“Captain!” yelled Roger “More ghosts are coming!”
“KEEP FIGHTING MEN!” yelled Chris.
They fought and fought until every ghost fell but one more was left, he was huge. He had a broadsword with spikes on it.
“Hello, father” Said Chris.
Chapter 5: The Bitter End
“You are not allowed to call me father, you fool! My name is Dog Gunmorgan! Not Father!” yelled Dog Gunmorgan.
“Chris is he really your father?” asked Roger.
“Aye, he was on a trip to this island for a vacation, but he died just like the rest” responded Chris.
“Chris, why is his name Dog anyway? Is that his nickname?” asked Roger.
“Aye, I called him Dog for a long time” responded Chris.
“Where’s Jack?” asked Roger.
“Are you two done talking yet?!?!?!” yelled Dog.
“Aye we are” responded Chris, at that moment he drew his sword.
“Are ye challenging me?!?” shouted Dog.
“Yes, Yes I am” responded Chris.
Dog drew his sword and jumped, with his sword facing down, and caused a mighty earthquake. Chris fell to the ground and then Dog stabbed him with a ghostly sword. Chris couldn’t speak, the pain was too much. Then suddenly, Jack came behind Dog. Dog turned around and Jack slapped him.
“That wasn’t very nice” said Jack.
“YOU! You’re supposed to be dead!” said Dog.
“I’m sorry mate but you forgot one tiny detail, I’m Captain Jack Sparrow” said Jack.
Jack then stabbed Dog and rushed over to Christopher with Roger.
“He’s bleeding too much” said Roger, “He’s dead”
“Mate, we’re in Morgan’s Cave, he’ll turn into a ghost, once he’s a ghost, he can go to any island that’s plentiful with humans and he’ll become a human again” said Jack.
Chris’ ghost slowly drifted out of the body and ran away, deep inside the cave.
“Chris!” yelled Roger.
“Mate, he’ll come back, let’s just go to Tortuga and rest, it’s been a long day…” said Jack.
