Here's a good idea: promote a better enviroment for the game.

The general thing among griefers is that "You can't touch me, it's just a game, I can do whatever I want." And while we all sometimes get the idea that these people do this "just for fun," it's more than likely that these people were PROVOKED in to doing this.

What we need to do is make the game's atmosphere more open, fun, and enjoyable for all pirates. It might be the case that as a lower player, a pirate was picked on by higher levels. Thusly, when they become a higher level, they'll think it's okay to do the same thing. Instead of letting a cycle like this continues, we need to make sure our friends, guildies, and fellow pirates know that messing with other players is not right, no matter how justified you are. This means preventing pirates from going around and bothering people and guilds they don't agree with, teaching pirates that it's not right to be rude and intrusive, even in a game, and so forth.

Personal Space might just bring back the days of AFK pushing, where griefers would sometimes push AFK players in to enemies, glitches, and so forth. Although some guilds, such as DW, made a game with it, not all players have the same good intentions as others. If pushing can be prevented, though, fine by me.

Spies would only make matters worse. I get what you're thinking, with the whole "Invisible Reporter" and everything, but it's more than likely people will not only abuse it, but take it the wrong way. If somebody sees somebody spying on their guild, they'll take it as just that - spying.

In the end, we just need to try and make the POTCO community a nicer place. Sure, there will always be those few that do grief just for fun, but we need to make it so that maybe, just by being nice, helpful, or informative, you'll end up preventing a future griefer.
