I hope that it is some type of ranking system. Here's how I would want it to be: In SvS and PvP you will not get pirate rep, instead, you'd get pirate "Infamy" points per sink/kill. As you level, you'll get a new icon to show that you are on that level, and so other players can see it. Maybe even new skills?
