It so happens that I had two quests running at the same time -- one was to get 5 undead brigands (for the Port Royal teleport), and the other was to kill 8 level 12+ undead from Murky Hollow (to free Greer). So I was able to do them at the same time. Very convenient!
I discovered that there is at least one level 14 Brigand (possibly 2) that will just stand there dancing by the fire while you continue to shoot him. If you shoot at any of the higher-level brigands, the whole troupe comes after you. I was able to pull off all 8 pretty much on my own.
But a hearty "Thank you!" to the others who dropped by and helped me get the first couple.
