Modern piracy (Particularly the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal, South China Sea, Gulf of Aden, Persian Gulf, etc.) is mind-bogglingly viscous.
Romanticizing piracy of the 1600s is one thing; real life pirates today though, have no redeeming qualities.
