I read something that they're trying to fix that by making the system shut itself down. It's also supposed to prevent the system from being turned on during that time.
If the article I read was true, it's kind of funny. Someone said that the other fix to the red ring of death was "the new Xbox 360 doesn’t have any red LED lights, just green." It also showed an image of a green "ring of death" with a red dot in the middle
