The thing where, if you shot a cannon at a sail, the cannonball - no matter the type - would go straight through the sail, continuing to do damage to the sails beyond, and possibly hitting the hull.
( Come to think of it, did Explosive ever do that? I never had the thought of shooting a bomb at a mast. Curses... )
