Bug fixes are probably easier to do and take less time because they just change a few code directions that were probably making things happen that shouldn't have happened.

From looking at panda tutorials, they have sets of codes, and if they have useless codes, those may or may not cause bugs. Or if you type codes in wrong they cause bugs. Bugs are probably easier to transfer over, but with updates they need to add things to the phase files, literally. You can't go in the phase files and say, "Ooo, I see a model of a bug fix!" No, it doesn't work that way.

They're physically(sort of) adding in content so it takes longer. The bigger the update, the longer it may take. And since they didn't say maintence, this is either a really big update or some really big bug fixes. I'd guess an update, but it could be islands, or they fixed fishing and they're adding that and land cannons.

If I were a developer, it'd be islands. Why? Because you don't want to throw four minigames at once and three months later have people say, "I'm bored!" again. Now islands would keep us busy for some time, and then when we're bored the developers can say, "Yep, it's minigame time again" and just add them in. That's what I think, logically, they're doing, but am I right? No idea.

P.S. Test is back up. There are no "known" new islands. There are no areas on the map which indicate there are islands. But they are mysterious islands, so I have no idea.
