(Sighs) I remember. I began playing when open servers were new. The islands were big, open, and gave off a small-town feel. Port Royal... I loved it there. Bright green hills on either side... A small town with cobblestone sidewalks... A little fort you could walk right into.... The Ocean was bigger then too. You had to sail as much as five minutes ,with the wind at your back and no enemies catching you, just to reach Cuba... Cuba at least hasn't changed. I did everything on my own. I've never been a member, and yet I've made it all the way to level 19.
I agree. Older players were friendly, and newer players were not so... how shall I say it?... You're right. Servers weren't filled with spammers and AFK players. No. You could get a crew together for a good time within a few minutes. But I disagree about baby pirates. They're not all dependent. The fact is that they're now split in two. There are those who are dependent, but the fact is, that most have taken independence to the extreme; not even willing to join a crew, and not so much as talking to those who just want to chat.
By the way, do any of you remember being able play tag or hide-and-seek in Tortuga? Those were the days...(Coughs) Now where did I put my medication?... Nurse!!!
