I became a Pirate in July of 2008, and I've liked my experience so far. My pirate lore is pretty long, so here are the main points.
I highly enjoyed the privateer glitch that would let you do Spanish vs French on land, man I would spend hours on andaba and abassa taking down the enemy. I have noticed now that players are ruder, meaner, and greedier... but it is rare now to find nice people.
When I first started this game everyone was so nice... everyone low and high level players were striving to help me level. A year later I hit lvl 40, and instead of them helping me, some people just stand there complaining and I have to ask them to help me. I do wish that the old music for the islands will be available again, because I really felt like a pirate, I was so excited jumping on flagships and leveling weapons, now it just feels like part of that life is gone.

I have lost a good amount of friends, but I have gained more true friends than before. I persuaded three of my real life friends to join... two left the game, now only one plays.
As I have looked back, I see that there is much I liked about the old game
