this could be caused by various things including faulty memory, faulty PSU, faulty MOBO or just by a faulty game so it can be quite hard to diagnose without looking at the computer qand event logs and running the dump logs through a debugger and even then it can be hard to make sense of them.
do you have any issues with other games, have you upgraded your graphics card and if so what Wattage PSU do you have?, do you overclock your graphics card / CPU?
things to try would be the usual culprits - upgrade your graphics drivers, update directx ( often missed out when graphics drivers upgraded ) and bit more dangerous as could kill the mobo
- update your motherboard firmware. also does the issue occur when you lower the graphics detail?
