In real life the sun and the moon are on completely different schedules and appear in the sky independent of each other. It's entirely possible to have the sun and the moon in the sky at the same time, or else there would be no eclipses. I wonder if the developers actually put this in so that they move the way they are supposed to in real life or whether they just have them rotating around the world. I've never seen them both in the sky at the same time, even after this patch when the moon started to move, so I think they just rotate around the world at the same time and we'll always see the sun in the day and the moon at night.
