I agree with ya about being given a warning. Sorry to hear about your mate. Was there another pirate in the house at the time? The couple times I have seen Constance put a player down, she has warned them before taking action. Just wondering if it was a timing issue with your friend landing at the same time Constance was taken care of another pirate.
