I'll have to say Big D has been making improvements to the game. Unfortunately (IMO) they have been more focused on making over towns and adding other minor options rather than adding quests and new enemies. This main issue as you stated is lack of content and this seems to be taking the most time.
You can look at it from another point of view....the fact that you can't just drop the Kraken into the game and expect everything to work flawless. I'm certain (as with all releases) there will be bugs. I certainly don't know what is going on behind the curtains, but we do know they have been trying to plug memory holes, fix graphic and performance issues. These current issues obviously should be corrected prior to rolling out more content into the game so we don't end up with a POTC Online that is severely blemished.
Some of the upgrades have been a nice addition....such as the updated friends list, viewing other characters stats and reallocating skills. The level 20 weapons honestly didn't do much for me. Lately I spend more time chatting, helping guild members and reporting bugs as I find them (Test and Open). I patiently await many updates as most of us are.....and stick with a game that I really do enjoy playing. Yes we all get bored from time to time.....and it doesn't hurt to take a break. Some have switched to basic or quit all together. I'm hanging in there with high hopes of major updates to roll out over the next several months.
