Does anyone know how to fix a Mac?

I have been having issues with my Mac... Its an Intel based... The problem that I have been having its that its not regcognizing the startup disk... it dosen't find the Mac or the Windows partition on it... Apple tech support couldn't do anything with it... Geek Squad at Best Buy don't know anything about Macs... Which is really odd... two branches and either know nothing about Macs... The fans are working... however once it recognizes the disk it runs like new... diagnostics say the machine is perfect... I don't know what else to do...

Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, your my only hope!

Not knowing any history on this machine or anything, the wild guess I would say from what you stated is your disk drive may be faulty.

Many things could be the problem just in this area, corrupt disk, driver could use something as simple as a cleaner. If you have the means try the disk in another computer, or a different disk drive, and trouble shoot what is working for sure.

Some basically wild shots in the air.

I haven't had one of the Intel machines go bad. So, I don't know if the icon is still the same. On startup, when it can't find the disk, do you get the computer with the question mark in it?

If so, your HD is on the way out; going bad. Back up your important files ASAP and install a new HD.

wish i could help, however, us mac users typically dont know too much about problems- because we rarely encounter them ;)

best of luck to you though!

Well for a Mac you need to shake it beat it with a hammer and maybe a kick or 2 to get it working. Ok jk lol but hope you get it fixed!
