  • Sorry, but the Mac client is currently out of order. We will have a fix in place early next week

The Skirata Clan 01-17-2009 07:15 AM

so not only my Mac is not working now even if it gets fixed I won't be able to play?

Well considering this is Friday (and already Saturday in some places), early next week at the most is 2-3 days away. I think they just posted them as having it up early next week since as far as I know the Disney staff does not work on the weekends. :mickeypiratezd4:

Well, being a cast member at a park and being a programmer are two different things - the parks never close... Programmers probably get weekends off (espically since D doesn't push too hard to put out upgrades and is trying to keep some type of close budget ;) )

Of course - in most programming circles - the closer you are to a final product, the more overtime that gets applied ('brainstorming sessions, 'in the groove' moments) - so its hard to say...

Just to point this out, this is only on the test server.

I wouldn't call any heavy brainstorming in this group happening much. Lets face it, when we point out potential problems they don't test and through out for release, or even during test nothing is done.

Examples: During test - effect of leaving people with skipped combos on cutlass and dagger, eliminating all others from it during the point buy back.

Before Thanksgiving event asking Gm's in tavern take over if we would have room in inventory for the special item.

These are very very simple things in the game that it doesn't take a tester to see this from the very start. Yet thinking ahead in the first place continues to be a ignored problem. Doing something about it when noted is also a ignored problem. Even when its a issue for the second time (bandanna = tattoo on Mothers day) Until they get someone in there willing to do something this is going to continue.

This latest release with the new graphics option, umm where is the save button? So you can't save any option you choose, whats the point to it at all? Again absolutely no thinking ahead, or at all for the most part.

These things remain in the game for months. With things like the issue with the bandanna, being a pointed out potential problem ahead of time, we saw what happen. Wasted resources to correct it on another weekend. With that sort of stupidity, they sure should of been docked pay or discipline action taken?

Brainstorming, definitely not something I can consider being seen in anyway with this group.

Just wanted to point out with this, that mine automatically saved to DirectX8 when I switched it and hasn't reverted to Open GL or DirectX9 since I changed it over to DirectX8. :mickeypiratezd4:

and to follow on that I believe its becasue it is not part of options - but because it is in the launcher it does an auto-save when slected before starting the game to the options_txt file. :)

The graphics options was just something I used as a example in context to other examples.

As for me. I can pull the window up and choose either dx8 or open. To close the window and log on I have found esc or enter works. Opening window again results back to original setting of dx9 leaving no way I have found to ever choose dx8 or open.
