Guild Naming Guidelines

Guild Naming Guidelines:
  • No foul language
  • No inappropriate mixed case. For example: Neither JoePirate nor joEpiRAte. Joe McPirate is ok.
  • No Disney characters or other cartoon characters
  • No exact characters from the Pirates movies and no mixing of exact character names. For example: Elizabeth Turner, William Sparrow
  • No sentences
  • Names must be at least three letters
  • No names that imply that you're a Disney employee
  • No copyrighted names
  • No non-English words
  • No religious names
  • No references to anything illegal
  • Apostrophes, Periods and Dashes are the only punctuation/symbols allowed, but must be separated by a letter.
  • No personally identifiable information. For example, you can't use your own name
Well those are the ones they have on their official site well i followed all of them when naming the guild "The 501st Legion" but it wouldnt go through so i sent a email to disney and after 2 weeks of emails they finally tell me this apparently one of them new fancy "Implied" rules for guild naming.

Please note, Guild Names may only have one single number at the
beginning, and up to four numbers at the end of the name. We apologize
for any confusion, but at this time we are not allowing numbers in the
middle of the name.

Well now you tell me so just thought id tell everyone that there are more rules than you can see.

they can also make the case that its a Copyrighted name... good luck.

Interesting. I wanted my original guild to be "Driver's Ed" (my pirate is "Ed" - oh well, I thought it would be cute) but that was rejected. Oddly, "Driver's Education" was approved. In hindsight, I almost wish that I had picked "STUDENT DRIVER" instead. But the word "student" isn't allowed in plus chat nor open chat, so perhaps it worked out better this way.

Game-guild names are weird. Historically, things like the "Thieves Guild" or the "Smithy's Guild" or the "Assassin's Guild" were real guild names. But in-game, we seem to be restricted to more humorous naming conventions.

I do wish they could be less ambiguous about the rejections - maybe attach a comment somehow, as to why the name was rejected.
