Public Ship Problems

Anyone else have issues when boarding a public ship? I was really excited when the feature came out but now I don't even use it, because I never know when I'll be able to get on a ship or not. I will click to board the ship, but instead of a few seconds of the "High Seas" load screen, it's indefinite. I can hear sounds but I think they're generic background sounds, because they're the same every time...thunderbolt, ship getting damaged, a sword being drawn then the swishing noise when you do attacks, and of course the music. But I always have to control+alt+delete to get out of the game. Today I was trying to get onto a public SVS ship, and every time told me my internet connection was lost.

I get on Live Chat about this around a month ago, and the lady told me they'd been having lots of problems with boarding public ships, but I've never really heard of it being that big of an issue with anyone other than me. My driver is up to date, my internet connection is dandy. Anyone else having the same problem? :th_shark:

Yes. I have the the same problem not only with public ships but also with any ship that isn't mine. I'd say 30 to 40 percent of the times I try to board a ship that isn't mine via a dinghy I get this problem. It seems to have started when they started public ships. Others have mentioned this problem in other threads on this forum. I usually TP to ships whenever possible.

Exactly as Dan say, it is pervasive with dinghy-boarding someone else's ship. 60-80% of the time, for me, now.

The work-around, is to put a piece of masking tape on the edge of your screen, so you can find the RETURN button on MAP, to return to port of call. Logging out and back in, takes a bit longer.

You can get in if there is a flagship!
