Flagships Map
 

Here's version 1 of my map of flagships currently in POTCO. Lines show where they start from, circles show where they usually stop to roll in circles.

The EITC Corvette, for example, can usually be found at Outcast island on any quiet server. Once you sink it, race to Kingshead to pick up another (if stuck on the fine cutlass quest.)

The Navy Greyhound and Navy Bulwark (that used to circle Devil's Anvil) were taken out of the game when they were trying to fix the "take over another ship" glitch, but mysteriously were never added back in once corrected.

The six French and Spanish ships sail mainly in tight circles (the blood scourges go back and forth a bit more than just a circle.)

You'll notice the various flag ships return to their starting points after a few minutes and circle there instead. After a few more minutes, they repeat their original course again. (Different flagships have different time thresholds.)

Thanks for posting this Ed! I'm sure this will be alot of help to me and many others during various quests (including the fine cutlass quest, ugh) and also for plundering, just for the fun of it!

Since when have you seen Navy Bulwark and Greyhound Flagships in the game recently Edward? LOL :D

I just noticed them there by Devils Anvil - I do miss them but they havent been around for some time (or did I miss an update somewhere? ;) )

Call it nostalgia, I guess. I think they took them out in April 2008. But they were great, when I was a newcomer. With all the other fixes they actually did do, the glitch that necessitated their removal seems long gone. Or maybe they were removed accidentally? *shrug* Maybe someday they will be back.

Huh, seems right (though I'll admit I thought some things were out of place at first). I usually am always on a ship that catches the big Navy boys early I guess, which would explain the discrepancy. Didn't know the Spanish and French had the same names, but I've never really hung around the French ones much anywhoo, and I guess since they have the same name, I thought they were Spanish.

Pick up the skeleton infestation quest from Orinda (on the Tortuga dock) and you'll know the difference between the French and Spanish undead ships real well.

Between the above map and the Compass thread, I might actually start having more fun sailing... even when sailing alone. :wheel:

Ah yes - the good ol' days, when there were very few Masterd Pirates, very few War Ships, a story to actually do... those were good days :D

Made ya feel like ya actually accomplished something each time ya played - I too miss the ol' Bulwark and Greyhound Flagships - I always said they made for good training and practice for the younger pirates :)

LOL, that Bull Flag that used to spawn by Devils...it was a gull fest ;) MINE MINE MINE, LOL. Ah, memories.
