Closed down, or am I being shafted?

It is Jan 1, 1019pm PSt.
POTCO will not recognize my log in, though I am paid for the upcoming year. No notice of being suspended, etc. Are they shut down for anybody else?

Achilles 01-02-2009 06:54 AM

same here...

it is not you, not your account,.. it was on the Disney end.
All is fixed, you should be able to log on now Mate! :dancetl6:

Still ain't happening.
And do they refund us when this stuff occurs?
Ooohhhh nooooo.

StellaInTheSky 01-02-2009 03:05 PM

If it makes you feel any better, I usually have to go through the log-in process 10-20 times depending on the day and time of day. I type my password and the log screen flashes but then says its encountered an unexpected error and gives me the bug report webpage. I've gotten on Live Chat and they just tell me its either my driver needs updating (not true) or...not even kidding, "they have no solution for the problem".

So essentially I spend quite a bit of time just logging in. Refunds would be very nice when this stuff happens...

I just quit for the night but yes its very annoying.

MaggieMac 01-02-2009 05:48 PM

It is Jan 2nd, 9:19am PST and I can't log in either. Been trying since yesterday...

Refunds may be in order if it something that POTCO has control over, as in a problem on thier end extended over time. However at this point im not entirely sure the problem is on POTCO's end, although Achilles stated that it was. Live Chat should have known that was the case however and indicated such if that was the case. If it was a problem with POTCO, it appears to be resolved now.

If you have always had these issues with login (member stating having to always try 10-20 times) then the problem is likely a local/networking related issue, as its not a common occurrence with the game system. Maybe try updating your system with all windows updates, old security certificates etc may be contributing to this. Also check your systems date (including year), make sure it has not changed to something obscure by mistake or freak occurrence.

When VMK closed for good no one got refunds. I don't think POTCO would do this just because a few people can't log in.

If it were for everyone then I can see them doing a "small" refund.
I just don't see disney giving refunds.

I can log in fine. It must be on your end. I had the same problem a few months ago.
If you've always had this problem it might be good to upgrade your graphics driver and work on spending some money for more memory for your computer.

i just log on no problems must be on ur end mate

Arioch 01-03-2009 08:16 PM

I ran into the same problem but since my recent activities are usually a little rowdy I assumed Disney cut me off.

Checked my E-mail and no suspension letter or warnings so tried yet again..8 times so figured I must have got a Disney employee mad at me while gaming and they attempted to sabotage my account.

Glad to know it is not just me but lots of people and not related to anything I might have said or done to people.

LOL.

Should this kind of thing happen again, the best thing to do would probably be to check with Live Chat. As they can remotely log into accounts for diagnostic purposes, they'd be able to definitively tell you where the problem is coming from.

Well VMK as I understood it was free (nothing to refund). In regards to POTCO, dont know about refunds, but everytime I call in and complain about thier service, I get discounts anyways. I've had at least 3 months at $4.95 the 'first month' rate. If you've paid for a annual account, and you cancel, they pretty much MUST refund the value of the service you have not made use of.

Looks/sounds like a problem between video drivers and thier update. Hopefully they figured out the problem and can make sure its addressed (assuming its something they can fix on thier end).

what gets me is i was playing and it crashed .. like it normally does at times.i tried to log in and i could but i couldnt see anything on the game itself.half the select pirate screen is black had i not known were to push and click on the semi black screen i couldnt have gotten into the game itself to see that its all black. the chat guy i talked to said everything on my end looked fine.this occured thursday morning last week. so no pirates for me since then and only a short email requesting a screen shot of the problem. since then nadda thing from them. its starting to get a bit annoying.. i wonder if i remove the game from my system and redownload it would help or just make it worse. weve had alot of snow here recently so having no pirates has been tough LOL. could have been sinkin ships and plundering for hours on end LOL

Looks like quite a few things in your system tray (bottom right corner) that maybe you should shut down/disable/un-install before trying to start pirates? Never know where video conflicts arise from. Perhaps your web browser windows as well. Just a thought...
