Founders(for the site)
 

I just saw a member that joined in Dec 2008 with a Founder rank.
Does this mean the rank is for people who are founders on POTCO?

Actually, "Founder" on the site and ingame are two entirely different things.

On POTCO, members who paid for their accounts before Dec 1st, 2007 at 11:59PM PST were rewarded with a special crew kit as talked about in this thread and a golden name tag, representing that they were some of the first members to play the game.

On POF, members with the founder tag are the first 5,000 members to join PiratesOnlineForums.com. These members, as a reward for helping to get the site up on it's two legs, were rewarded with lifetime access to a free userpage and signature. Everyone after the first 5,000 members now recieve the "Pirate" tag instead.

As Jack_I stated they may say the same but have nothing in common with each other.

Correcting Jack_I Founders were people who payed for the game BEFORE December 2nd 2007 and have continued to pay for the game until this point. NO special crew kit was given to founders.

The member cool peppy has the Founder rank but joined December of this year.

Is there a mistake in the year?
Cool Peppy is also a mod on TTC.

That is weird because he was in the 17,000's members

Often moderators of our affiliate sites are given such a status, so they can enjoy the priviledges associated with this status, without becoming a moderator on the affiliate site.

Basically a moderator priviledge.
