POTCO's Martial Magick Guild

Plundering the Carribean With 20+ members we share the common goal of having
fun and enjoying the game with our fellow pirates.

[new guild site is http://martialmagick.guildlaunch.com]

Many guilds have lengthy lists of rules, guidelines, ranks, etc. We do not.
However, We do have a philosophy. That is:

It's a game! It's a DISNEY game, as such the game itself has rules - Don't break them.

Ranks, There are no ranks - Members are Members. Period end of story. Officers are members too. Their only special roles are to be a higher authority when one is REQUESTED, and to support the guild's efforts.

Having a little fun, helping eachother out, and some lively conversation is whats makes this all worthwhile.

Asking questions, and becoming involved are encouraged. Going [AFK] all day or night is not.

Pretty simple isn't it? And isn't that just the kind of guild you want to join? Of course you do.

That said; here's the skinny...

We are a band of friends (some are real life friends) who play well with eachother
and have a good time. Our membership is stong, and the majority of our members are active. We don't play by schedules, except for planned events and such. Members who haven't signed on in a significant period of time, or otherwise made contact with other members, may be purged from the membership. Those that are purged are welcome back anytime they wish. Officers and members are able to invite anyone they choose
(members can receive an invite code from the GM or officers).

If you would like to be part of a growing community, please let me know - and Welcome Aboard! :pirate2:

[edit; we have taken on some members from other guilds - for whatever reasons (mostly inactive GMs and officers). These pirates are welcome and are having a great time with an active guild and fun friends. I had a conversation with a new member that wanted more rules. The resolution to that request was that whatever a pirate thinks 'should be a rule' should follow it. (I call that common courtesy) Additionally, after a short discussion with another officer, we made it plainly clear that even with our limited rule set; there are unspoken rules, and basically, rudeness, being inconsiderate, or causing trouble won't be tolerated. If you think you're going to get a free ride in an anarchist guild; you'd be wrong. To make a long story - longer: We have not had any problems of this sort anyway and we don't anticipate any in the future. Said member, I think was relating concerns that were based on the nature of previous guild experience, which have not been duplicated in Martial Magic. We are pirate DRAMA FREE; and plan to stay that way. Please consider joining if you feel that this is a good fit for you. Thanks, and Happy Holidays!

The curses effect on recruitment...

And here, I thought our recruitment would be limited to these forums. An unintended consequence of the last curse (not my favorite event) is that our members have had the chance to chat and meet new pirates.

Today alone, we picked up 8 members. Not a bad days work if you ask me.

Anyway, I put a question to those who are forum veterans. We are anticipating, and planning a guild website - but don't want to duplicate resources that the forums already provide. Any ideas, or suggestions in that regard?

Secondly, and this is something my guildmates have charged me with... (probably cause they don't want to risk being suspended) How do we get the information out to our members, about my posts here, and any future web site, without getting in trouble with Disney?

And tips? Thanks in advance

I constantly tell people to visit "Pirates Online Forums" in disney chat. Do not give the URL, if they need more than the name, tell them to "Search for: Pirates online forums" (it's real easy to find)

Thanks Zep; I'll try that and hope it works.

Whats all this about?

What is all this bumping nonsense? Seems kind of sneaky to me. hmmm.

I figured out what all that nonsense bumbing business is all about. I still think its sneaky though.

Membership is growing, and we're planning some fun events soon! If you want to join a great group, you know what to do. (don't you?)
