Whats up with these enemy ships?
Okay, I've noticed that sometimes when i am sailing ill sometimes find a ship that can do a 180 degree turn in 2 seconds and have unrealistic speeds, dodge everything you throw at usually and always hit you no matter what you do!
Is this a bug? Or is it just a extra challenge? Either way, i don't like these enemy ships, there hard to hit and usually always hit you, and I've also noticed them getting in front of you sailing away turning about 180 degrees then they launch thunder, fire what ever it is they shoot at you then turn around go farther ahead and repeat this over and over. |
it happens a lot. i'm not sure why but they just do.

Revenants can usually do that as relates to the turning, which really cramps the soloist.

yep, ive posted the same thing here just yesterday. it's been going on a long time now and i wish they would fix it!

this glitch is VERY EASILY AVOIDED!
you cant get rid of hte 180 deegree turns but you can stop the speed and broadside glitch thing by... when an enemy ship respawns DO NOT HIT IT!!!!!!! wait a while for if you engage a ship when it respwans it will speed up fast. And the reason you Disney does not know about it is probably because sending a pic is very efficient but you cant really get a pic of a speeder... the 180 deegre turns were an enemies infinite turn about that cant be fixed. PS: ENEMIES RARELY USE 180 DEEGRE WHEN NOT GLITCHED!!!:8_5_12: |
lol it's like giving the juggernaut a jet engine. :erti078:

I always just assumed that it was a trait of certain ships.. and it may as well be. I find that if you're shooting the ship from a distance or using the compass to navigate/shoot, it doesn't cause too much of a hassle :)

As POTCO Fan said, this only happens when an NPC ship first spawns and you attack it.
That, of course, is not much help when you are in Mariner's Reef and a psycho EITC corsair or a navy dreadnaught spawns partly ontop of you. They just go nuts and start firing before you can move, spinning back and forth like a top. |
I do believe since one of the last major updates, it would seem they added Turbo Chargers to some enemy ships. I agree it is unrealistic and needs to be addressed. I also think wind catcher and some of the other passive sailing skills need to be reviewed for effectiveness. Do they truly work as advertised? Hopefully more game updates are coming soon...we have hit 2009.

The "turbo chargers" seem to be a glitch that they finally corrected - many higher level ships now go fast, when they go straight at you. You are still faster than they are, in a light galleon, but now only slightly (so it takes a bit more planning to sink high level NPC ships now.)
