Best Dressed contest
 

So, the GM's all mentioned something about dressing in your best for teh Founder's Feast, and prizes. So, I am going shopping. Only bad thing is that I have to get rid of the clothes I already own to get some new duds. I already took Iam Rackat shopping, and he looks good! I started on James Buffit, but I think I am going to sell what I bought laast nite so I can get some other stuff. It would be nice if the clothing limits were raised prior to the event.

That's an excellent idea! And man, some new hairstyles wouldn't be bad either. Be a lot easier to be a stylin' pirate with more clothes and better hair.

Ya know - I didn't check to see if on th latest Test if they updated clothing holds... if so maybe there will be room in the closet for a new Wardrobe :)

Great idea...did the PDF clothing quest only to sell most of it to make room for new clothes...didn't really make alot of sense to this pirate...u all no how long the clothing quests were. And why can't we get rid of the first articles our pirates wore? I was a novice when I chose them and will never wear them again...You no us wenches...don't like lookin like everyone else, but the limited hair styles...well u get the picture

The only clothes quest item I've sold so far is the banadana to my banana suit. Only so I could get the look I liked best back.

Well I dont know what the women got, but mens clothing in the game is severly limited and lacking. Like 3 shirts, of 6 different colors, and none of the colors look like what they say they are. The quested articles are the best items of clothing available (other than clothing drops).


If your account goes to basic, they do not want your wench running around naked in the game.


Personally don't mind such contests. But there is only so many ways to mix the limited number of clothing items in the game. I suspect those that received clothing drops would have the most success, being more unique.

So does that mean you will be showin up at the feast as a banana pirate Ed?(grin)

Lol whats a banana suit? You talking about the shirt that looks suede to me (yellowish tan)?

U are certainly rite bout the colors Zeppers...In order to be able to tell how my pirate actually looks and what colors she has on...I log out and look at her on the log in screen to find out the purple I just bought is actually yellow...lol

LOL, I've done that too lizzy. Log out to see what it looks like on the log in screen.

I got all four of my pirates on line last night after I finished shopping and took a screenshot. I had to run a second launcher on one of my PC's so I could get them all on, but it worked. My wife said "Now you're playing all four at once?!" LOL But I got the screenshot.

Any guesses on what the prizes will be? More iPods?

Ummm Rackat... Seems to me your already guessing about the existence of the contest to begin with. (Most people wear thier best to Thanksgiving gatherings.. its traditional, this GM comment does not suggest any contest to me at all.)

Its likely they will announce the prizes that will be available at the same time they announce the contest.

I am guessing that it will be a "best dressed" contest. But one of the GM's said there will be contests and prizes. Put in context of the GM saying wear your best, it is a logical leap to think it would be a best dressed cotnest. Along with the contest mentioned and the prizes mentioned, I was going to guess that it would be more iPods.

Not gonna mess up my wardrobe without something concrete... lol

I had the gold to spend, and some of the clothes I had I didn't like anyway, so I went on a shopping spree. It was fun going to all the different tailors to see what was availble. It is surprising that the game is so limited on clothing and accessories. 5-6 shirts per tailor with multiple colors, same with pants. 5-6 different "styles" of hat and the best ones are from the Barbosa and Tortuga clothing quests that aren't available for purchase. IIRC, there are only 3 styles of coat, and 1-2 vests. I was hoping one of the updates would give us a bigger closet with more clothing selection.

But, my pirates do look good in their new clothes. :D

well it makes ALOT of sense for you not to be able to get rid of your starter clothng. And the short answer is that some pieaces of clothing are worth more then other suich as the blue jacket that cost alot so you could make alot of money fast by choosing the correct clothing....:tg20:
