bad news for ALL basic access players - no light frigates!

Thank you for your recent message. We apologize for any confusion
caused by our previous replies.

At this time, Basic Access accounts are only able to purchase the Light
Sloop and, as of recent, the Light Galleon. We have no plans to make the
Light Frigate available for purchase for Basic Access accounts at this
time, but we appreciate your feedback regarding this as we are
constantly balancing and making enhancements to the game to make Pirates
Online a fun and safe place to play online.

Please note that as a Basic Access member, certain options, features and
quests will be limited compared to when using Unlimited Access. While we
offer this Ad-supported, free version of the game, we do have to charge
for Unlimited Access in order to maintain the level of service and
quality our users expect. If you would like more information on how you

BOOOO disney. They killed the disney channel too...its horrible now compared to the 90's.

Is there a reason why you are upset about this? I mean seriously, you aren't paying for the game, so why complain about it? Not trying to be rude, but come on, you're playing for free. It's called a hook. They give you some stuff and show you what you could have "if you pay to play".

It may not seem fair to you but they do have to limit the amount of stuff that basic accounts have to get them to want unlimited access.

Sure some games out there have different approachs, offer free play with options to buy stuff, etc. But they usually have extensive ad campaigns etc within the game to boost thier income. Disney has some, but it is generally thier own ads.

Who deserves more? non-paying player, or a paying player?

The more they provide the non-paying player, the more they are TAKING AWAY from the paid player!

I find it rather unfortunate when people complain about how much they can get for "free".

I agree with you Zep. The more they add for basic access members the more they take away from unlimited access member. And come on Roger... you are playing for free. There's other games that only offer 14-day free trials then you gotta pay to continue playing. I think you should just be happy that you have what you have and if you are really that upset about wanting a bigger ship you should just upgrade your membership.

Actually a 14 day free trial for the competing "POTBS" mmorg, gives you limited "Basic" access. That 14 day trial is limited similarly to the POTCO basic account, and is only for 14 days. POTCOs 14 day guest pass is full unlimited access!

In reality POTCO is a great deal, even cheaper than most the other MMORGs (if not similiarly priced).

It could make a great holidays gift, ask someone for a POTCO gamecard for the holidays!

Agreed... its been a long known fact that the Light Frigate was not available to the Freebies... AND they got the Light Gal which has more Cargo Hold room! What people want for fre now-a-days... :)

Don't think there's going to be much sympathy here Roger. You want more in game, you gotta pay for it. If cash is an issue, then I think asking for a gift card for a holiday gift is a perfect idea. I personally think the basic access pirates have plenty to work with, if not too much, as it is.

If one of them is lucky and happens to board my war frigate when I just leave to sink one ship and turn around and go back in. I will let them take the wheel and just tp back to the island I was going to. I have only done it a couple time now and the first time even after 10 plus minutes he still didn't fill up the ship and the rest that had boarded afterwards had all been asking who's ship it was cause they knew a basic couldn't have it.

Even now I wonder if he liked the ship and paid out for unlimited.

consider yourself really lucky mate. a few months ago all you could use was the light sloop.

I LIVE IN THE UK, YOU CAN'T GET UNLIMITED ACCESS IN THE UK, IF I DON'T ASK FOR LIGHT FRIGATES EVERY ENGLISH PLAYER (including me) WILL GO TOTALLY MAD!!!!!!!!!!!!


we need potco in the uk......

POTCO UK should be coming soon, roger, they already have the website for it up. Until then though, you'll have to just bear with the rest of the basic access members or find a way to pay from the UK to here. :buds:

There are many unlimited UK members already in POTCO, was a few here on the boards. I believe gamecards and/or creditcard was thier methods of payment but I do not know the details.

i emailed them asking if there was any-way around it (e.g: credit cards, game cards overseas accounts) and they said NO...?


even though i will get unlimited access the 'second' i can, it would be ALOT easier if basic access had a class of ships to call thier own, so they no were they stand...!
