Dueces Wild Vent server

(Im adding this thread for anyone who doesn't already know to save typing)

Deuces Wild now has a ventrilo server so if you want to join ask purv (Basil) and he will instruct you on how to do the set up.

you'll need a headset or a mic and speakers (or as jess calls em ghetto phones lol) in order to get everything working where we can hear you and you can hear us

don't forget to thank our GM for setting all this up

Thanks Purv (Basil)

Vent is a thousand fold better than YIM for voice. Now the only problem is with all the talking, i forget to read the guild chat in game...workin on multitasking. Thanks again Basil. ;)

Woohoo Thanks BASILLLL!!! I got my headset - oh yeah - now I just need to get Vent installed and you guys will be wishing I still just had my earbuds and could only listen in. I tend to be a little gabby .) Can't wait to plunder, read guild chat, type in the wrong tabs and chat with you all.

Welcome everyone! I have tried to get ya'll involved with voice chat all summer, and it took the Armada Night to do it. Then I realized that getting 13 people into a YIM conference, and keeping them there, was a royal pain. SOOOO, I decided to go Vent. I have used Vent for about a year now, for personal business, and have a private Vent server at my house, so this wasn't that hard to do.

This software is newer than mine, so it may take me a day or two, but once I get a chance, I will build a couple of 'private' rooms there. Once done, individual crews can each have their own channel.

And GRATS Tandykins, on getting out of the dark ages, now if we can only get Jess to give up the earbuds!

Everyone should realize by now, this is always on. Just open it, connect, and you are talking to everyone. Day or night, it works, so take advantage. I only bought space for 15 people to be connected at one time, so if it is full, you won't be able to connect til someone drops out.

With this in mind, if you are using it, but are logging out, please disconnect Vent too, so others can get in. If this REALLY takes off, I can up the number of people.
But I went with 15, based on the cost, for now.
With this in mind, please do not give out our address or password to non-guildmembers. We can't support guests at this limitation.

Addendum:
I made 3 areas for crews to use. To get to a crew, once logged into vent, just drag your name to the crew you want to join. If you want to see who is in one of the crew areas, just expand it by hitting the plus sign. The crew areas do not crosstalk to other areas. I also made an area for officers only. This requires a password to get into, I'll send the officers the password via PM.

I checked out Vent and its pretty cool. Thanks.

Hey all, The service I pay for our vent server shut down their server in Cincinnatti, so they have moved our account to the Chicago server. What this means to you:

You have to make a configuration change in order to hook up to it. You can PM me to get the change, or you can go to the DW web site, I have posted the info there. It is quick and painless. (Well, painless if you are even slightly computer literate.)
