Can't get an avatar.

I wanted an avatar that had animation but when I took the link for an avatar it said the file was too large.
Is there a way to fix that so I can use it?

Animated Avatars usually are done by 'layers' of images which increase the size of the image for each 'layer of movement' there is on the image - so unless the Image was created a) with less images and / or b) smaller images were used to create the layers - then the image cannot be uploaded.

If you know what the image was created in then you can sometime open and remove images to reduce the size - but I don't know of any easy way to do that (.gif files are usually animated Gfs which a program like ULead GIF Animator may be able to open it and allow editing - but I'm not a graphics expert :) )

Just a general Note for everyone: The maximum size of your custom image is 64 by 64 pixels or 87.9 KB (whichever is smaller).

Still not understanding.
I've seen this avatar on TTC and they had no problems.
The avatar doesn't look like it's been edited, the animation seems the same, but I could be wrong.

64 pixels.
I may need to change it's size.

Increased file size to match our other sites: The maximum size of your custom image is 64 by 64 pixels or 87.9 KB (whichever is smaller).

Ok. Here's the avatar I wanted. Is there a way to change it so it's ok as an avatar?

EDIT: This is what I get when I try to upload anything using a link now.
Upload failed due to failure writing temporary file. What's that mean?

Try saving the image to your computer and then upload it as your avatar. The url upload is broke for avatars. vB update 3.7 broke that feature...

Thanks!

Merged post.

I wanted a mod(s) opinion on my new avatar after all that trouble.
(on a scale of 1-10 how is my POF avatar?)
