Profile Changes!

Nick has made a few adjustments to everyone's profile fields. He has started to include extra fields to be fill out about our POTCO character. This is only the start, so we ask everyone to go fill in these profile fields and make sure everything is working. Please, report any bugs on this thread.

You can do this by going into your userCP and clicking on Edit Profile which is on the left hand column then filling in the blank fields. What you place here will then show up on your member's profile.

Feel free to make suggestions or corrections. This is in the early stages and is far from perfected yet.

Those familar wtih TTC, this is similar to your toon info on your profiles so it shouldn't be too different for you.

Thanks! I was just about to ask about this.

That worked pretty good... I try to edit in a list of names for the kinds of ships you can get...

What about a "Fill in the blank" for your favorite Pirate Hang Out?... Swamps, caves, pubs...

This might be getting ahead of what you are working on, but I added an image to my free page, only I don't see a link to it...

Can you get the avatar size bumped up to 100x100?

There are sites that will let you host up to a GB now,so are you able to turn off just the upload on the avatars, and sigs (to save your disc space),> then 500x100 is fine for a sig size, but the file size is kind of small, if you try to use an animated .gif

Oh... and are you able to freeze the BG.

You mean like a link to your userpage? http://www.piratesonlineforums.com/f...ain&userid=911 Nick needs to add a link from user profiles to their userpage still. He will get to it though.

Our standardized size for avatars is 64x64.

We offer image hosting in our gallery. We do offer attachment hosting, sig, and avatar hosting as well. Feel free to use any of them for your needs. Our max size on sigs is 200x500. That should be plenty big enough to meet your requirements without lagging people with slow connections or being too large for people to not see the next post.

Freeze the BG? Maybe if I knew what a BG is, I could answer that...

IceSphere 05-22-2007 08:48 PM

Woops... I didn't see you on line... I always edit my posts a few times.

BG is Back Ground image, sorry about that... It's just kind of a 3D look where the posts would scroll over the brown paper image (very nice color), but that image would stay in place... I'm guessing you would need to add a small bit of code to the CSS, cascading style sheet...

I lost most of my notes when I had to reformat because IE6 & 7 messed each other up some how... I'll have to check the email I send most of my codes to (could take way longer than adding that simple code).

It looks like you just add
Code:

; background-attachment: fixed }
after your background image (if your CSS page will let you)

But I just looked closer, and the BG for the Board is almost black.... and the brown paper image is a BG for a table, or board holder, then it looks like you have a 2nd (dark gray) table the posts sit on... You would need to make the board holder (table with the paper image) transparent and put the brown paper image as a BG for the page (body)... If this program even lets you... Sorry, it looked much simpler when I thought the brown paper image was the BG for the Body...

Anything else anyone can think of for the profiles?

PirateGG 07-01-2007 03:55 PM

What is this all about?:12_1_138:

Davy 07-02-2007 12:30 AM

PirateGG, click on the User CP button at the top menu bar, then on the side menu bar click edit profile. Put in the info it asks for or what ever info you want to put in, then hit save. Then when anyone else looks at your profile, they can see exactly what your pirate character's stats are in-game!

Another couple additions you could add to the character info is:

Favorite Weapon
Favorite Ship Type
Grenade Level
Current Quest

Thanks for considering :-o

Pirate Funnymush 10-04-2007 02:56 PM

Dagger level would be good to add.
I'm sure Grenade lvl also when persons have reached that far.

I am not sure what Ship lvl is. I have Cannon lvl and Sailing lvl but what is Ship lvl?

Bluesaucer 10-04-2007 06:01 PM

Just a couple of addition ideas,

The Dagger level
The Staff level
Grenade Level
Perhaps also the different type of attacks you have ( Ex: Pistol Ammo, Cutlass attacks, Voodoo special powers. )
What type of ship you have ( Ex: Light frieghter, Light sloop)
Quests currently working on.

If I think of more I will edit my post..
