Increase in Notoriety from lvl 40 possible?

So I just earned grenades on one of my pirates, and I noticed something odd.

See how it says CURRENT notoriety cap? Anyone else notice this? Does this mean that there will be a different notoriety cap later?

Notoriety cap that stays at 40 no matter what you try or do and we will never raise it.
