Boarding permissions

OOO yes,
This will prevent the individuals that just board your ship without asking first and starting to shoot at everything.

So now what is "public"? Never mind I see it now, I can board any open ship from shore. That could be good for those that just go out for fun.

Public means anyone in the server can board your ship even if you dont know them.

Enableing this might get you some "board your ship without asking first and starting to shoot at everything."

Yeah i made the mistake of turning public on and i got like 10 people in 5 minutes on my ship and they shot at everything (and i mean everything if there was a ship that they could see they shot at it) i finally ended up sinking by a dreadnought that i couldnt outrun

The public thing can be really good and pretty bad. Personally, i like to have it on beacause i dont really care if anyone shoots at everything... i like that! :128:

On quiet, works generally well. I like Public myself as well. However, limiting crew and all is great too.

After using this over the weekend I have noticed that I do get more people on the ship using the public feature. Although I believe them to be mostly basic users that only have small ships and boar the bigger ships with their own crews just cause they want the loot when returning to port. And for fun I left the ship in the hands of one of them and checked on the status in my glass bottle to see how it was doing over the next 10 minutes. And then when I saw it go down to 1/4 left hull I reboarded and saved the day. It ended up having about 6 or 7 basic members on board all trying to figure out who's ship it was. Kinda funny there. I am sure this guy had a good time sailing a war frigate being a basic account.

i allow everyone on me ships. i ask what they need, i just don't like to take orders in my vessels. that annoys me!

I have been using public to build my rep on cannons. I have been going solo and this is helping me use cannon without getting sunk by something sneaking up on the other side of me.

Using the public setting helps my privateering tasks a lot

I like the new boarding permissions feature allthough I'd like to see the setting stay put once I port the ship. I rarely ever crew random people on my ships, and in those rare instances when I do crew people at random its rarely more than one or two players and I keep an eye on em. If they are shooting randomly or they try grabbing the wheel I dump em off the ship when I port. I would love to see a " Walk the Plank" feature added to the game.
