A Modest Proposal
^The above title comes from a humorous pamphlet (though the item was something a tad bigger), though the original title was something a tad longer.
Anyway, I think people should be able to keep all weapons and levels gained while they were members. As well, if they aren't able to keep clothes that they bought, then they should be able to keep the last outfit that they were wearing. We should be able to sell the clothes we started with methinks, and that'd possibly be possible with this change-o'mine. Certainly there need be incentives for membership. Perhaps they could cap weapon levels at 10-20 or so, and, if higher, move them down during the tenure of dicharged membership to the lowered cap. But I'd still like to have that Staff. They could put all our weapons at the level 1 weapons, leaving us with a flintlock. They could simply 'demote' all of our ships, making any warships their regular counterparts during our tenures as former members. They could do alotta things. |
so youre saying if you have unlimited access and you lose it, you should at least keep a part of your UA
Aye I agree on that, but no worries for me, I wont loose UA anytime soon :) |
I agree 100%! Since I have a War Fleet, I can't drive ANY of my ships. (Well I'm UA now so it doesn't matter.) But when I do lose my UA, I can't sail anywhere :(
And for the weapon skills & weapons, pfft, hate that too! |

I know - its not that simple... (well it is but...) I know peeps dont want to lose their gold invested in big ships - but espically those who may be out for a while and want to play - the gold lost can be earned back and you can still get around :) |
OT but when I read the title to the post I was afraid it was going to contain some idea of hitting the little navy guys and then using their 'parts' for sails or some such....phew!
I think if you're UA and you need to take a break or whatever and go to basic that everything you have unlocked stays that way- you just cannot do anymore story quests or gain any rep... |
If you go from UA to Basic and have a full complement of ships (none of which a Basic is allowed to access), you can still sell a ship and buy one that you are allowed access to as a Basic member. (Or you used to be able to. I haven't tried in a long time.) You can even repair a ship that you're not allowed access to if you forgot before you stepped down.
I've found it's really not that limiting to go back to Basic especially since they added the clothing quests. Sure some weapons are locked out; I do really miss my firebrand and thunderstorm cannon ammo, but I more than "get by" with all of my pirates. |
When I was unlimited for the first time, then turned back, I was kinda mad because I didn't like the idea that I spent all that gold on ships and clothes and I couldn't use any of it. The weapons I didn't mind, it was just those two.
