What do you find as the most useless and most useful staff hex?
 

I was wondering what everyone thinks of as the most useless and most useful staff hex.

I personally prefer the flaming skull over the rest. :batmoon:

Most Useful is a tossup between Wither and Flaming Skull, as it depends on the situation.
I think that Wither ends up being the most useful. Flaming skull a close 2nd (and only because it has 'range').

Useless? Pretty well covered in other thread: Desolation

I think the most useful is Flaming Skull and the most useless is pestilence or soul flay.:)

To me the most useful is Flaming Skull. The most useless is Banish ( I only say that because I don't have Desolation yet and Banish only works on Undead ). Although if another boss battle comes out and it involves high lv skellies Banish could pay off... if you don't die while charging it first.

Most useful is Flaming Skull - I won't play with my Beardies without it. ;)

Aside from the "wow factor", Desolation is useless...one of the worst things you have to work to get (getting handed a crummy attack as a baby isn't so bad, IMO - leveling for ages just to get that thing though...ugh).

Most useful? Wither
Worst? Blast

Blast: Cute. Good way to aggro something VERY quickly.
Soul flay: Good for leveling up until you have wither.
Pestilence: Good if you like the color green.
Wither: My favorite...fast charging, strong and hits in all directions.
Flaming skull: Longer range than blast, but prohibitive charging time.
Banish: Obscene charge up time. Mostly useless.
Desolation: Fatal charge up time. Entirely useless.

Concentration: Not bad, but unlocks AFTER you needed it.
Spirit lore: Mega-fantastic. This makes the big difference.
Conservation: Unlocks long after you don't need it anymore.
Spirit mastery: Pretty good. Not as good as spirit lore, but still really good.

I tend to use Wither as my favorite, let it be not too weak, not too strong. It falls in a pretty good rep range, even though mine is rank 5, I get in the 70 rep area.
Now if you really want good staff rep, soul flay it to death!

Useless? I wouldn't say desolation, because it's strong. Pestilence is strong too, especially if it's rank 5. Sadly mine is rank 2, so I'd say most useless is desolation.

Banish is: if you're leveling, it decimates an undead target. If you are leveled, chances are, you ain't wontin' it!

Can anyone tell me the charge time of Desolation when the casting time-reducer is maxed?

Useful: Banish then Flaming Skull

Useless: Desolation

I mostly use Flaming skull

flaming skull and wither are good desilation is ok for the wow factor and desolation is ok if you have 5 points it would do alot of damage. i hope this helps.

Flaming skull is most useful.
Desolation if it remains on this fast cast, is great now. (look at glitches)

Banish and Pestilence I would go with as more useless.
Putting a 5th point into spirit mastery,,,most useless.

Flaming Skull. FIRE good! Plus it does good damage w/o taking too long or eating up voodoo.

Useless= Banish

Usefull= Flaming Skull!
