Feedback...
So I'm new to the test server, which is incredibly frustrating as of late because I'm still too low of a level to try out some of the newer things like I want to... but anyways- I'm not real sure about how to do the whole feedback thing.
I mean, I know HOW to do it, I'm just not sure about WHAT to report on. I'm not a glitcher, so its very unlikely I'll run into any of those... I'm still low level, so most of what I'm playing has been around for a while... but mainly, anytime I see something I think about reporting I can't help but think 'oh maybe that's part of the update' or 'well this has been a problem on live too so i'm sure they know about it already' etc. My question to you, my other faithful testers, is how do you handle the feedback form? Do you send in about anything, everything, what? |
For some things I see going wrong (ships sliding, buildings on fire, soldiers burried in the ground or falling off cliffs....) i hit the "?" right then and there and report it. For the bigger things (um...everything messed up right now) I take a screenie, a few quick notes, and send in a full report on the report a bug page. Been doing a lot of that the last couple days ;)
Hope that helped. |
Like Sarah said, if you see something that just doesn't look right, send in a quick message right then. I've done that quite a bit lately myself.
The bigger issues, take good notes of what you seen and screenshots are great so that they can actually see what you are trying to explain. Send them in every couple of days, so you can stay on top of them. The big issues like the chat need to be sent in everytime you log on, because if they don't fix it before the update goes live, lots of people will quit playing altogether. Chat is a total mess right now on test. My advise on sending in reports would be, just because you think it has already been reported, shouldn't stop you from sending in another report. Many bugs may have got to the live server, because we thought someone else already sent one in. Flood them with reports, so we can make the open server a better place for all pirates. |
I agree! Send in ANYTHING that you think is a bug, whether you think it has been reported before or not, and whether it's a bug you like or not. Our "duty" as testers is to attempt to play through as much of the game as possible with any new releases to make sure they didn't mess up the rest of the game. They have fixed the chatbox, and the ships now are moving again thanks to the testers that have been sending in bugs. After last night's update, staffs seemed to be crashing the servers. There is a lot more lag when there is a new release, and in my opinion some of that comes from the increase of players actually on the server. When there is nothing new, a lot of people do not play on the test server, but with the "new" stuff, there are more people running around than I have seen in ages.
