Could This be an Addition to Padres?

icemage 10-01-2008 02:02 AM

It should either be a thing where you go in to somewhere and it takes you there like a cave or a shop or just like climb a ladder? I think Padres is already really big. This would make it huge! I think lol.

Swash 10-01-2008 02:11 AM

I will find a way to get up there.

After all the glitches you know, you probably will

Funny you bring this up because I randomly noticed these additional buildings a couple weeks ago, did a little running around and currently have not found a way up but definatly still looking!

Dr. Zeppers 10-01-2008 06:58 PM

Scenery, thats what i'd call it.

There are lots of buildings etc we cannot access there.
The fact we see it, would make it not so secret.

The fact that folks think its significant, is imagination (and a bit of hypothesis)

Nothing wrong with imagination unless you try to force it as reality. ;)

Not having any actual facts, makes it hard to hypothesize its purpose (other than scenery).

Whats the empty room in Port Royal for?
Whats the room full O barrels in KH for?
Shhhh its a secret.

Pretty cool to learn that the second rectangle (portal) on compass on Devil's Anvil has a use, as a GM teleportation entrance point. But yeah, the rectangle by the PDF jeweler's is still a mystery. The new buildings that Swash noticed, I thought were actual scenery, not game objects that you could glitch to. But sure enough...they are neat. Takes several minutes to get to them. You can walk into some walls right inside, no need to use a door. The other two building you have to enter through their roofs. (Wait, is "roofs" even a word? "Rooves", no?)

Absolutely gorgeous views from up there. The real estate value must be astronomical.

Captain Seaford 10-01-2008 08:34 PM

I could probably glitch in there, LOL

charle88 10-01-2008 09:56 PM

They've been here a long time....I Always figured they were eye-candy for the game.

Ok, so what is a "GM teleportation entrance?"

When the GMs arrived at Devil's Anvil, they came in through there. If you try PvP and glitch out one of the exits, you end up in a barren Port Royal - no buildings. The tree tunnel you come out is what I mean. If you go back in, it ends the match early. Really, just a normal cave tunnel/tree tunnel, that goes to from or to someplace outside of the normal game.

On your compass, on Devil's Anvil, it appears as a second rectangle. (The other one going to Barbossa's Grotto.) On PDF, by the jeweler's, there is another.

Chris 10-01-2008 11:26 PM

Well leave it to someone to glitch up there :D watch there be like a bar and stores up there never being used.

whiskey 10-02-2008 12:00 AM

ok, so even more NUB of question, what is a GM?

A GM is a Developer of the game who during the "Meet Live Pirates" Event was on Devils Anvil speaking with pirates like us. A nice, simple explanation :)

GameMaster.

GameMasters are pirates with a skull/crossbones over there heads.

They were recently widely seen in the game on specially scheduled meetings.
This allowed a us pirates to talk to them, and ask questions.

They in reality are the games developers (so we're told).
