Marauders

Why is it anytime I have a quest to get items from Marauders.. There's never anything on them! I had the Family Valuables quest.. Had to find an heirloom on a Marauder... Sunk at least 15 of them on different servers, logged in and out, and it Never turned up. Now I have to sink more for the Pirate Lore pages... I've already sunk 10... Nothing. Anyone else have this problem? Or do they just not like me lol.

Its not just you! That Family Valuables quest is notorious with my friends. All we have to say is, "he's searching for the family valuables," and everyone knows! :laughks2: One of my friends sank 45 marauders before finding it. Another sank only 2 (and we were all jealous).

Pirate Lore isn't much better. But the cutlass is totally worth it ;)

Good at least its not just me lol. I was beginning to get frustrated! I got so used to getting items pretty much within a few tries. The Marauders just turned my world upside down! Well I have 10 to sink.. so I'm guessing I'm going to have to sink about.. 100... lol I may be out there a while..

The pirate lore quest, once it starts counting them, it goes pretty quick.

The one looking for Solomans family hierlooms? Recommend not concentrating on it matey, just go about yer other business.. it'll eventually come along (found this approach much less frustrating)... aye

Thats where after 10 or so you switch servers... I find that if I run into a hunting quest where it just doesnt show up after 10 - then a server switch is in order (which is wierd - but does seem to 'reset' the stupidity in the game and start delivering :D )

I got that in about 4 tries seriously! The pirate lore took me a long time! Especially the corvettes

Yeah, we know that now, but back then we were newbies... :pirate6:

ITA with Zep, don't focus on it. It'll come along.

Until the added the SvS islands I had a corvette spawn point pegged..

It would spawn above water in the air... rest there a moment then fall into the water. We had it sunk before it hit water usually.

Now... I find that the sentinels, vipers, bloodhounds, (and corvettes) around rum runners take turns spawning.. Seems I always start seeing corvettes as I clear out all the sentinels, vipers and bloodhounds in the area.

shadow_wolf2025 10-01-2008 06:03 AM

Ah I've only seen one Corvette during my Marauder massacres.. So maybe I'll take out some Sentinals while I'm out and maybe I'll get my mind off the insanity >.< lol. Ok, While I'm here.. I gotta get into that office in Fort Dundee, and I keep hearing that you should take a friend or guild mate with you, but no one's online when I am lol. Is it going to be difficult for me to go it alone? I'm Not. Level 27 if that helps (sorry bout the subject change but I'm trying to take advice and not worry bout the ships too much, and i didn't want to clutter with a new thread)

Two things:

The Marauders for that quest used to hide South of where Cuba used to be. They probably still do.

Open your journal by typing "J". Click the quest. (Almost nothin.) Click the sub-quest. (Almost nothin.) Click the sub-quest-item line. (Description narrative should chage to the correct one.) Click [TRACK]. Toggle the [TRACK] button until the quest is tracking properly - the count and short description should be just left of your compass.
Wait 10 seconds.
Your closest marauder (or marauder spawn point) will now have a ray of light. Your compass will have a yellow arrow indicating which way you need to go.

The Corvettes when the quest first came out did seem to be hard to find... but now many know of the Corvette Flagship off KingsHead and fairly good sucess finding them off Rums lately so the issue isnt so bad now :)

dreadroberts 10-02-2008 01:48 PM

Level 27? You should be ok. There is generally a lvl 15-18 veteran, and a level 21-25 officer in front of that office. You should be able to take them at level 27 :)

marauder been by canjelous island and corvette back side of rum runner, and try switching ocean to find them there.
