Double Rep Quest & Allowing option for teleporting "visitors"

I think the next time that there is a Double Rep event, it should be a quest not a timeframe, like the Father's Day quest so everyone has their Double Rep at different times instead of the crazy problems this past weekend.

Saturday was ok, I was able to lvl up 3 lvls on each weapon pretty much on my new lvl 28. Sunday was terrible. My biggest problem was there was this guildmate 4 lvls higher than me lvl 32 who kept teleporting to me whenever he died & blasting his MAXED Flamming Skull (according to DxD) at EVERYTHING I was trying to kill. With his FS, he was killing everything in ONE hit, if not then it was 2 hits. If he wasn't blasting his FS, he was lifedraining everything. He kept following me around about 70% of the time, the other 30% he was killing stuff my crewmate was killing. Told him to stop following me & leave me alone, I even put a lil bubble above my head saying that he must be a sicko for following lil girls around stealing their rep, but nothing worked. He kept saying that if we crewed him in, "you'll get regular, crew, double rep which would help" HAHAHHA OMG... I was getting over 400 rep each kill before he started teleporting to me. After he came & blasted his FS or used LD against everything, I was getting like 15 rep each kill. Even with double & crew bonus, there was no way I could get anything like 400.

At the end, I was only able to lvl weapons only ONCE on each weapon... sad part of all this was when I, as officer, was going thru guild list to so I could kick this "member" out of guild, so he could STOP teleporting to me, turns out... our gm somehow had made him an officer, OMG what a disappointment, he is not officer material, if the gm was not my friend, I would've dropped this guild asap...at least I didn't put my lvl 37 in this guild. If he's like this to me, I don't wanna know how he treats people like 10 lvls lower than him, those poor guildmates probably get +0rep with him around.

There should be a function where you can say Yes or No to people teleporting to you for sure.

That's irritating i HATE rep thieves did you ask him to stop though

If he as an officer wouldnt listen, then you need to talk to your GM.
If your GM wont take care of it, then... well.. IMO

You need a more friendly/accomodating guild.

No sense in staying in a guild with a GM that wont listen to thier members.

I'm sorry to hear you had such an awful time of it.

On Sunday's double rep, I had fun. I helped three people win their boss battles (even though I got relatively little double rep, it was still quite fun) and they were so grateful for my help, they followed me around for the remainder of double rep, healing me.

Rather than get upset, or spend a half hour trying to explain what was wrong, I threw my cares to the wind and turned crew matching on. Crew was full 12 people for most of the remainder of the event, with about a dozen people "stealing my rep." It was comical and funny - I really couldn't stop laughing at the absurdity. I didn't have a chance of properly leveling up weapons during the chaos. But I did have full 50% crew bonus most of the time.

In the quieter moments, I'd make comments like "wow, weak attacks only, gives me WAY more rep!" The majority of the crew got the hint and changed tactics as well. There almost always was one, though.

I had a couple relatively quiet moments, where I would get a red-level gypsy to myself. Working as many weapons as I could, I got two weapon levels at the same time (pictured below.) But that was my only level up during the event. Still, 626 rep is a new personal record. After the event was over, I leveled up FIVE TIMES including notoriety. So the event did help bring me closer.

Zeppers is right...

When you're in a guild, you're supposed to work together as a team...not against each other...

You'll find that in most of the "better guilds" such as those posted here on the POF, members will crew up and then take turns fighting enemies while the others heal them...also in regards to people teleporting in, most guilds have rules that tell their members to ask first before teleporting in...

These and other easy to follow rules are what makes not only ours but many other guilds rise above the others who are just in it for a numbers game or not caring about friendships or helping each other out...plus the better guilds have a fun family type atmosphere, plan events, etc...

aye i would talk to the gm , and since he was a officer that make it even worst. i would have to move on if nothing was done about it. that kind of thing can kill a guild quick.

Swash 09-29-2008 08:18 PM

Leave the Guild Its the Only way OR Ignore Him Ye Should've Thought of that.

Well i mastered my cutlass pistol and doll and got ot lvl 24 cannons yesterday however it was packed!

I would have prefered a quest where we can all have different times to use double xp. This would have prevented alot of choas yesterday and saturday.

As for the tp option i honestly do HATE it when friends/guildies/crew members tp to me with out asking i might be running around for a quest or leveling quietly alone in tormenta.

Problem was, GM wasn't online during this chaos to kick him out for me *pouts*

I only had one crewmate coz where we were, there would not be enough enemies for a full crew of 12 attacking decently high leveled enemies LOL. Wow over 600, thats awesome, my record yesterday was 493, already mastered nades last wk tho so couldn't use smoke. I was able to level cutlass, dagger, gun within 1 kill after another tho... was gonna try leveling all 3 on one gypsy, but didn't think the gypsy had enough health to handle that hahaha.

Tried a few boss battles yesterday for the 1st time on this pirate coz the sailing level is only 17. Won them easily, except for the last one...was the only one left alive with 5 lvl 35 officers left on board & all my weapons are only lvl 15 with most only have 1 pt in each skill. ::traumatized:: Finally killed them all after a very long time of dolling. Bad part of all this was my cannons, I don't plan on unlocking Firebrand on this pirate coz I never use it on my 1st pirate, so I only had round shots LOLOL. I was debating on whether to unlock Fire or not while on board, but ended up throwing a point into Rapid Reload instead when I leveled up my cannons to lvl 10! LOL.

Sinking the frigs would've been way easier with thunder or fury...

Then came the bridges, roundshots could barely do any damage whatsoever lolol so I gave up & broadsided them, by the time I was destroying the last bridge (middle section) I was down to half hull left awwww.

Attachment 1012

Got to the 2nd set of 2 forts. The fort on the left sunk me like, ummm like 30 seconds after pulling thru lolol, figures coz the left side of the ship had been badly damaged already awwww lol.

I agree with the given time, and not the priveliged time, though technically the first is the second. Reason being that with 4 pirates, it'd effectively be 12 hours of leveling.

Well unfortunately such events usually take a few days to get resolved. Still I would be complaining to the GM about the officers behavior. He is a representative of the guild, and if he is going to continue to act in that fashion and the GM wont do anything about it, then you should move on to a respectable guild.

I think he was just representing his idea of another quest, not designing one with actual quest steps.
