Swash Guy, some friends, and I were privateering last night when Swash wanted to try this one glitch out. (Don't worry, it's not a cheat.) So he took the helm and in seconds, we were INSIDE the island of Avaricia while we were still aboard the ship! I'm not 100% sure how to do the glitch so I would ask Swashbuckler II if you want to know. Here are the screenshots. :D

I could have took more shots but the lag was absolutley insane.

Wow so thats where the cannons were coming from! Ye were hiding inside the islands lol pretty cool glitch.

But swash what exactly are you holding Savvy is in front of you.

WOW, thats weird!

I know how to do it.

1. Launch

2. Sail Forward until drop anchor is gone

3. Stop and sail backward until Drop Anchor is back

4. Use come about to turn until facing the island

5. Let Go of the wheel

6. Take back wheel and sail forward inside of island.

Lol cool im gonna try that (not to cheat but since im bored so much its something to do and take a picture of!)
