Anyone have any luck yet finding the first mate?

I haven't been able to find him and have been looking for days:(

Hi Jane and swabby - I think you have already found the coal - right Jane? (I can PM ppl if you want to know) - I went with a group the other day and found the first mate - he is in jungle on Port Royal - the one behind crab beach - go with a friend as there are tree things and other attacking all at once. i was not able to get the tongs because the three I was with were friends and I was kinda along for the ride - - they left before I could do it and I wasn't about to be there alone!
Hope that helps... Also, grampa - I think the dev are waiting for the game release to let us know where the training is - frustrating but maybe they want to keep some surprises

First Mate changed to Sergeant
 

It was changed to Sergeant with the latest build. I fought two on Pt Royal and the second had the tongs. Will Turner is now putting it all together as I recover a message form a large Navy vessel, a quest from Elizabeth. I wasted a lot of time looking for that guy, hee hee.

Of course, now that we can finally finish this task, I can't play my high level pirate without crashing. Arrgh!

Ok I have been fighting solders in port Royal - when I kill them I get a message
looking for tongs..
but the game keeps cutting out before i get to kill one of them
so it looks like they might be there

Seargent in the fort is where I got mine
 

If you go to the seargent under the walkway behind the guy in the stockade you can fight him one on one. I fought him twice and the second time it gave me the tongs.

I keep fighting sergeants also. I get the message looking for tongs, and none are found. I've probably fought about 10 sergeants now.

Under the walkway, I only see Officers. Does that work?

About my 7th time killing the sergeant that is outside the fort (have to single him out by hitting him then retreating so you dont get bombarded by other Navy soldiers) in Port Royale 7th sea I got the tongs. Just keep at it
