Lack of Fanfare When Mastering

When my first pirate mastered, I was in a big guild which usually gathered around you when you were going to lvl 40, with everyone celebrating afterwards, so I didn't think anything was missing.
:buds:

That was until hearing from a pirate who mastered by himself, and he was crushed that there was ABSOLUTELY NO special acknowledgement in the game that this had occurred. He had spent all those months laboring to reach that goal, and then nothing.
:sadmh9:

All the certificates, special animations, level displays, etc. for things as small as picking up your new voodoo doll, yet nothing for mastering?

Anyone else find this to be a bit of a letdown?

Mr.LoveLocket 09-27-2008 01:57 AM

No. You know that mostly all those people in the leaderboards master themselves? no one watching. Who cares if they do or not. Its nothing important, you really think that "oh i need a crowd to make me happy" than fine :o

Not His Point

The pirate I refer to was not talking about other pirates watching, he was talking about the game itself acknowledging mastering almost less than going to lvl 2.

OH i thought it was yours!
i read wrong :P
well then he shouldn't really care

I thought the reputation circle thing changing color and getting the logo was, um, neat. But yeah, I was kindof expecting Jack Sparrow to materialize out of thin air and congratulate me with something similar to completing the BB. Same thing again, when I was done done (mastered all.)

Don't know what the messages will say though. The earlier ones say "you can still work on your other weapons..." or something. This one would have to say something like "You're done. You can go home now. Yay." :pirate2:

Ya know Foul, I never really thought about it before, but now that i have, I think you're right. Even in ToonTown, when you water enough flowers, you get confetti dropped on your head. There should be some in game recognition for mastering a pirate. Being thrown into a cut scene where Sparrow buys you a bottle comes to mind...

A BIG letdown. I mean come on! It took me 2 1/2 months to make it to 40 and nothing happened! NOTHING! Although when I was leveling to 40, it was back when nothing even happened when you recieved a new weapon.:(
:)

aye agree, give u a special thing above ur head, like the mug thing when crew,

Don't know about getting confetti thrown on a pirate, but do agree that they should do something for both notoriety level 40, and a complete Master! Suggest that the "40" by your name be changed, either in color or in font, and when a pirate is FULLY mastered, there could be another recognition, such as a highlight or color change to their name itself.
These would be fairly simple to implement, since they already do color changes for founders, npc's, etc.
