PvP Options & Times in Jail?

The past few times that I've done PvP, the game puts me into a "match" for Team Battle with me & my friend, but no one is in the opposing team, so the game ends instantly. Thought it was probably the opposite team logged out or something, but then I saw this: http://www.disneyonlineworlds.com/in...Pirate#Options mmmm does the Options box show up for anyone that you can pick how many people to be in a match???? Coz I've never seen that, nor know anyone who has... after we click Mayhem or Team Battle, it just goes to search for us.

I was looking at DxD yesterday & came across the Times in Jail board & realized that I somehow had 5 more "deaths". Problem is, I know I have not gone to jail at all since the last time I looked at the boards. The only thing I could think of is that I "died" in PvP matches. I looked it up & there's no mention of "deaths" in PvP matches also counting as "Times in Jail". Has it always been this way?? I don't remember "deaths" in PvP counting for "Times in Jail" but maybe I never paid attention or maybe my game is just messed up.
I looked at the board of the Top (100) Pirates for PvP and yup, you guessed it, most of them were also on the Top (100) Pirates for Times in Jail.
I used to be one of the Top (100) Pirates for PvP: Mayhem...maybe that is why my # of deaths are so high....but at least I'm not one of the Top (100) Pirates for Times in Jail, now I'm #160 for PvP: Mayhem and #2534 for Times in Jail...so at least 2533 people have more deaths than me LOLOL.

Mr.LoveLocket 09-20-2008 03:31 PM

I've never paid any attention to that particular statistic since going to "jail" is really a part of the game and doesnt really (to me) represent any valid or accurate gauge of well.. anything.

Of course I do not see the game as a PVP arena, since that genre is (IMO) way over done, and way better done in other games/genres.

Anyhow, its possible that the feature the wiki represents is dated. Hoping we can get things caught up over there (all the standard quests, etc) and then work on some more of those fine details and updating areas that are now "dated".

As for deaths in PVP counting... why wouldnt they. Its your pirate, you died. Another mark on the wall... ;)

Well i certainly learn a new thing about this game everyday, before i click Mayhem or Team Battle, you're right there is an options button next to it :)

If you open up the lookout panel and select a PvP, there is now an options thing. I don't recall ever seeing it before yesterday.

Since your pirate (or pirate skeleton) doesn't actually go to jail when you die in PvP, I can see why it probably shouldn't count. But it is a pretty goofball statistic to begin with - it is just there to make people laugh.

But when you're high level you tend to remember when you last died, coz you rarely die anymore. But yea I just checked the PvP, and that options is there now, strange, thought there was something wrong with my game.
I didn't know that PvP deaths counted because there is no mention of it, plus the SvS doesn't have your deaths going up when your boat sinks.

And congrats on ur lvl 40, saw you on Padres then when I went to visit one of the GMs

Well, technically we dont die when the boat sinks in SvS, you get put back on your ship. (I guess ye swim ta shore and git a new boat!)

But in PvP, you die at the end of your battle.. so, sorta makes sense.

Thanks on the level 40 :)

Oops I meant Times in Jail... but in normal sailing, whenever you ship sinks, you do go to jail.

Anyways, I asked the GMs Ruby & Thatch about it, and they both said something like "Maybe you are right about them counting as Times in Jail, we'll look into it." So I guess that it, "we'll look into it" lol.
