Mastered Weapons

Before you master and you kill something, that rep goes in your rep for pistol AND notoriety. But when you hit level 25, sadly, it doesnt. Sometimes I get +25 rep in my notoriety though! I think they should still add that rep in your notoriety count, as if you weapon WASN'T mastered, but it really is.

P.S. Anybody know how that +25 rep works?

Chris 09-20-2008 12:12 AM

You might have gotten a new treasure item you get +25 if its new.

Mr.LoveLocket 09-20-2008 01:05 AM

Yeah but usually its not new :[
Probably its those boring rudyards teeth.

Joseph 09-20-2008 01:09 AM

Yeah it was probably a new treasure

Captain Seaford 09-20-2008 02:07 AM

Actually no it wasn't new, right now in kingshead I got 1 of the nine rouges (I HAVE THEM ALL...) and got 25 rep.

Swash 09-20-2008 02:32 AM

Sometimes ya get rep randomly from treasure even if ye have found it.

Dr. Zeppers 09-20-2008 03:00 AM

I had read here somewhere that you get the 25 notoriety every time, not just when they are new. But I have confirmation of that information.

Now what do you mean by that Zep?
Well I've already tried leveling up with a mastered weapon and it doesn't work.
But I can usually get rep from getting treasure. Weird...

Swash 09-20-2008 03:10 AM

Maybe it comes from the cards.

When you get any Treasure (Teeth, Item, Collectable, Figurine and the like) you are awarded 25 REP no matter what - its a Bonus for finding a treasure...

That is how some Basic Members get past the L12 Noriety - Treasures add 25 REP no matter what (though at basic L12 - your limited to treasures you can find so its a LONG process...) :)

I'm guessing that means a basic access member could get to level 40 if they were a very obsessive palyer.

First of all,

Yes, you get 25 points whenever there is a plunder of a treasure item. It does not have to be "new." Cheat cards do not give the 25 points.

Second,

Plunder is given for 10% of enemies defeated. Some newer enemy types give 0% (e.g. French Lieutenants or Spanish Conquistadors.)

Third,

A basic access member is low level - at level 14 EVEN WITH the invisible and invulnerable KH glitch, the level 18 veterans are far too tough to defeat in a timely manner. (Certainly way, way, way longer than 1 minute.) Camping on the gravediggers would get you reported.

Fourth,

To get ~526,800 points...at say, one monster every 15 seconds (way faster than physically possible, but what the hey) gives 4 enemies defeated per minute - 2.5 minutes for ten enemies - 2.5 minutes for 25 points - precisely 10 points per minute, on average. 525,000 / 10 = 52,500 minutes. 60 minutes in an hour = 875 hours. Two hours a day (ugh! On a boring pirate! You've GOT to be kidding!) would be 439 DAYS. Pirates Online hasn't been around that long yet, though.

So, if you see a basic member level 40, you can be certain they used to be unlimited. (Likewise 30.) The fact that most pirates don't make it that far at all, should be a big clue for ya. It is a huge grind, for unlimited...but not physically possible for a basic.

Mr.LoveLocket 09-20-2008 02:11 PM

Yeah its true. I doubt that a person could reach 40 by collecting treasure. Eventually they will be very bored.

davy redflint 09-20-2008 08:18 PM

aye but u get nothin if ur already at 40 and masters all weapons

Mr.LoveLocket 09-20-2008 08:31 PM

Hopefully they will increase the limit! :)
