Weapon Upgrades and their effects on reputation gained?

I tried searching the forums for an answer to this question but to no avail.

I am aware that if you sink points into skills that increase damage on any weapon will decrease your reputation gained per swing for said weapon. How do the upgraded weapons effect the reputation gained per swing? Do the better weapons increase overall damage therefore decreasing the reputation gained? Is it more advantageous to upgrade one specific weapon while keeping the initial weapon you received for another one?

This question first arose for me while looking at the double barrel and tri-barrel pistols. I wasn't aware of how they would affect the damage per shot of my pistol but they both looked beneficial with the ability to fire multiple times before having to reload.

Sorry if this is posted else where and thank you for any help.

Most weapons upgrades, change the value of damage done by that weapon.

This may decrease the number of attacks someone might make, and thereby lower the number of reps. This is true for all weapons and thier upgrades, EXCEPT PISTOL.

Pistol upgrades of 2, and 3 barrel's only change the number of shots one has before reloading, and does not have any effect on the amount of damage inflicted. The only exception to this, is the QUESTED Tri-barrel, which does +1 damage and can lower the number of attacks, and thereby reps rewarded.

Thanks for the quick response. I'm currectly at level 7 Pistol skill. Should I just wait to get my tri-barrel or go and pick up the double barrel when I have the chance?

as far as i'm aware, rep gains for attacks are static, ergo, they don't change when you put points into them.

i can confirm this with my grenades, i gain roughly 3.5 rep per grenade, and i've got 3 points in my basic grenade (don't ask why).

do not put points into skills untill you have either maxed said weapon, or feel as if you don't wish to continue training it seriously anymore and only want to use it for like pvp or something. otherwise, your damage will go up, hence meaning you'll get fewer hits in and thus less rep. same goes for upgrading weapons although that's to a much lesser extent, 6 damage doesn't seem to have that big of an effect on me lol (exeption for the pistol which doesn't increase damage untill the lv 15 weapon, and soon to be lv 20 weapon)

i hope this helped

I recommend putting only one skill point in everything (unless u think something is useless) and waiting until the weapon is mastered before maxing anything. As for upgrading weapons, I still upgrade my weapons when i hit level 15. It will efect your rep, but not significantly.

Reps are scored per attack.
Each attack will earn the pirate a certain number of reps.
The more attacks the more reps the pirate earns.

Skill points do not change the number of reps rewarded for the attack, reps remain the same per attack irregardless of the number of skill points assigned.
Skill points will however increase the damage/effectiveness of an attack.

This will allow the pirate to defeat the enemy faster, in fewer attacks.

Fewer attacks = Fewer reps.

I does what Stormhawk does, and since Stormhawk does, I does (verbo). However, with the skill wealth-redistribution thing now for sail, you can probably put one point in every skill.

Yeah i don't add 5 star on skills anymore.

Double barrel and Tri barrel pistol give less Rreputation point [Rep] per shot.
Single shot pistol gives 50 pct more Rep than Tri barrel
Double barrel gives 25 pct more Rep than Tri barrel

But single shot is slow so i suggest use double barrel until we max pistol.
